Checkpoints

To ensure traffic flow, safety, and race management, checkpoints will be set up. If there is a significant delay beyond a checkpoint, or if the organizer determines that traffic restrictions would be affected, the race will be canceled.

*The Fun Run is checked only at the first checkpoint.

2. Age Group Marathon: 1st to 3rd place for men and women respectively in each age group (24 and under, 25–29, and so on in 5-year increments up to 74, and 75 and above)

*For places 4th to 8th in categories (1) and (2), there will be no award ceremony, and certificates will be mailed later.

■ Traveling from Taiwan to Kagoshima (actual direct flights to Kumamoto/Fukuoka are subject to each airline’s announcement)

At present, there are direct flights from Taipei and Kaohsiung in Taiwan to Kumamoto or Fukuoka International Airport in Japan. The flight time is about 2 to 2.5 hours, followed by a transfer to the Kyushu Shinkansen to Kagoshima-Chuo Station.

• If saving travel time is your priority: Flying to Kumamoto is the faster option for reaching Kagoshima, with a shorter Shinkansen ride afterward.
• If you prefer more flight options: Flying to Fukuoka offers more airlines and flight schedules, making it easier to plan according to your budget and itinerary.

■ Recommended ways to get from Fukuoka/Kumamoto International Airport to Kagoshima City:

Take the airport express to Hakata Station in Fukuoka / Kumamoto Station, then transfer to the Kyushu Shinkansen to Kagoshima-Chuo Station.

■ Kagoshima-Chuo Station ↔ HOTEL MYSTAYS Kagoshima Tenmonkan

• Route 1, fastest and most convenient: Taxi or self-drive: If you are carrying a lot of luggage or want to save time, taking a taxi is the most direct option. The ride takes about 9 minutes.

• Route 2, economical and convenient: Public transportation: Taking Kagoshima’s city tram or bus is also a very convenient option and takes only about 16 minutes. You can board a tram or bus heading toward "Tenmonkan" from the tram stop or bus stop in front of Kagoshima-Chuo Station, get off at "Tenmonkan-dori," and then walk to the hotel.

• Route 3, leisurely stroll: Walking: If the weather is nice and you do not have much luggage, you may consider walking directly to the hotel. Along the way, you can enjoy the city scenery. The distance is about 1.5 km and takes around 21 minutes.

In the morning, you can walk to the venue as a warm-up. It takes about 21 minutes (1.4 km) on foot from the hotel, following "県道21号" and "マイアミ通り".

■ Full Marathon finish: In front of Kagoshima City Hall (鹿児島市役所前) ➡️ HOTEL MYSTAYS Kagoshima Tenmonkan

From the finish line, it takes about 18 minutes on foot (1.2 km) to return to HOTEL MYSTAYS Kagoshima Tenmonkan.

Fun Run finish: In front of Kagoshima City Hall (鹿児島市役所前) ➡️ HOTEL MYSTAYS Kagoshima Tenmonkan

From the finish line, it takes about 11 minutes on foot (750 meters) to return to HOTEL MYSTAYS Kagoshima Tenmonkan.

[Visa]

Competition Rules

The event will follow the 2025 Japan Association of Athletics Federations competition rules, competition advertising and display regulations, and the rules of this event.

Personal Information (The organizer complies with laws and regulations)

The organizer recognizes the importance of personal information, complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws and regulations, and handles personal information in accordance with the organizer’s personal information protection policy. Personal information will be used to provide participation information, record notifications, related information notices, services from event sponsors, partner organizations, and related institutions, publication of records (such as rankings), and questionnaires, etc., in order to improve services for event participants.

Attire

Participants in the registered and general categories who wish to obtain an S block starting position may not participate in costume attire.

Other than the above, participants may wear costume attire, but may not wear clothing unsuitable for the race, such as attire that may cause discomfort or danger to other participants or supporters.

In addition, participation while pushing a stroller or bringing pets is not permitted.

Please note that the organizer may cancel the race on the day of the event.

Other

1. If the event is canceled due to earthquakes, windstorms, floods, severe weather, snowfall, incidents, accidents, infectious diseases, etc., the organizer will make a decision based on the specific circumstances regarding whether entry fees will be refunded, the refund amount, and the refund method.
2. Please take all necessary precautions before participating in the race to ensure your physical condition, including sufficient training and a pre-race medical checkup.
3. Participants may not wear or display any advertising items within the event venue (including on the course), such as designs or trademarks representing company names, product names, etc., for advertising purposes.
4. There is no parking available at the event venue, so please use public transportation whenever possible. The organizer is not responsible for delays caused by public transportation or road conditions.
5. During the race, in the event of emergencies such as accidents or fires, emergency vehicles may pass through any part of the course. In such cases, the race will be temporarily suspended in accordance with the instructions of event staff.
6. For the purpose of holding and promoting this event, the organizer or a third party approved by the organizer may publish race videos, photos, articles, personal records, etc. in race programs, posters and other promotional materials, television, radio, newspapers, magazines, and on the internet.
7. The 2026 Kagoshima Marathon may not be used for religious or political purposes.
8. In addition to the above, please follow the instructions of the organizer regarding the race.

Baggage Storage

If you need baggage storage, please go to "Sera 602" in the underground parking lot of Central Park. (The exact location and time will be designated and announced in advance by the secretariat.)

Please note that the free changing room and baggage storage area do not accept fragile items, animals or plants, or perishable items.

Each person may check in only one piece of baggage. We are not responsible for the loss of or damage to valuables.

*Valuables should be stored in the valuables storage area (Basement 1, "Cera 602") for a fee of JPY 500.

Changing Room

You may change clothes in the Sera 602 parking lot. (The specific time period will be designated and announced in advance by the secretariat.)

* The changing room may also be used before the race starts, but space is limited, so please come dressed as lightly as possible.
