The Nagaoka Grand Fireworks is one of Japan’s three great fireworks festivals, with as many as 20,000 fireworks launched over two days (based on past records). The thunderous sound and spectacular scenes spreading beyond what the eye can fully capture are breathtaking!

The most eye-catching of all is the “Phoenix Fireworks for Reconstruction Wishes,” which can span about 2 kilometers in width—an ultra-large-scale wide-format fireworks performance.

There are also a wide variety of “rapid-fire fireworks (starmine)” and the astonishing “100 consecutive one-shaku shell launches,” all visual feasts that can only truly be experienced in Nagaoka!

[Climbing Trip – Important Notes]

※ Travelers aged 60 and above must submit a health certificate, and minors must be accompanied by an adult.

1. This trip uses a pre-booking registration system. After placing an order, personal information will be registered.
2. Japan’s “Mt. Fuji” reaches an altitude of 3,776 meters and is a high-altitude climbing activity, where altitude sickness or shortness of breath and other discomforts can easily occur. Since the second day of the itinerary requires departing before dawn to view Goraiko, physical exertion is relatively high. To ensure your safety and a good climbing experience, those without climbing experience are strongly advised to begin physical training 2–3 months before departure. In addition, it is strongly recommended that before the trip you first try climbing any one of Taiwan’s “100 Peaks” (recommended: Hehuan Peaks, Shimen Mountain) to adapt in advance to alpine terrain and your body’s response to low-oxygen environments.
3. To help you successfully reach the summit, after the itinerary is confirmed we will send you detailed “Pre-departure Notes” and a “Physical Training Guide.” Please pay close attention and start preparing as early as possible.
4. If a climber has high blood pressure, it is recommended to consult a doctor before departure or prepare a health certificate for the tour leader to review on site. No refunds will be given for itinerary changes caused by personal factors.
5. After the group is confirmed, a group chat will be created within one month before departure, and an online trip briefing will also be held.
6. The itinerary may change due to accommodation arrangements and other factors. Please refer to the “Itinerary Information Sheet” issued after departure is confirmed. Locally, the itinerary and restaurant order may also be adjusted due to weather, traffic, and other factors. Our company reserves the right to make such adjustments.
7. During the trip, force majeure such as natural disasters or typhoons may cause mountain closures or prevent summit attempts, resulting in itinerary changes. We reserve the right to alter the trip, sightseeing items, or change meals and accommodation. If any expenses are saved after such changes, you will be notified and refunded after returning. Expenses already incurred are non-refundable, and we kindly ask for your understanding.
8. Whether to do the crater rim walk and ascend Kengamine, the highest peak of Mt. Fuji, will depend on the day’s weather/wind conditions and each individual’s physical condition. The tour leader will decide whether climbing is possible, so please follow the tour leader’s professional judgment.
9. Vegetarian curry can be provided at the mountain huts. Please make this request when registering.
10. Estimated meeting and dismissal times: Day 1 estimated 08:30 meet at Kawaguchiko Station; Day 2 estimated 15:00–16:00 dismiss at Kawaguchiko Station. The above are estimated times; actual meeting and dismissal times are subject to on-site conditions.
11. Mountain hut rooms are dormitory-style. The huts do not have showers, nor do they provide outlets for charging. Thick quilts and pillows are provided, so there is no need to bring your own bedding.
12. Highest post office: It gets very crowded in the morning and buying stamps may require waiting in line. It is recommended to write your postcards and affix stamps at the foot of the mountain, then bring them up and drop them directly into the mailbox.
13. There is 4G network coverage along the route, so there is no need to worry about communication issues.
14. There are many mountain huts along the route selling food, drinks, and hot water. Mt. Fuji lacks water resources, so all water must be purchased from the mountain huts!
15. There are toilets at the mountain huts along the route, and toilet use requires a fee of JPY 200–300 per use (depending on each hut’s pricing).

－Yoshida Route: the most suitable route for beginners and first-time climbers.

－Fujinomiya Route: steeper slope, requiring better physical fitness.

[Fireworks Itinerary]

■ Chinese/Japanese-speaking guides available. Please note that the Chinese-guided shared group requires a minimum of 10 participants. If the minimum is not met, the group will be combined with Japanese travelers (Japanese only). Notification will be sent within 10 days before departure, so please be sure to check your messages.

■ Please be sure to gather at the designated location on time. If you are late due to transportation delays or other reasons and do not arrive before the departure time, it will be regarded as forfeiting the itinerary. The bus will depart on time and will not wait. If you are absent without contact, all arrangements will be canceled and no refund will be given.

■ Detailed information about the meeting location will be sent in the “Final Confirmation Document” about 10 days before departure. (Tentative)

■ Bus seats are assigned, and in principle the same seat will be used on both days. If you have seating requests, please make them at the time of booking. We will do our best to arrange them, but cannot guarantee your preference can be met.

[Important Notes]

■ The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival may be canceled or its content changed due to requests from the government or local authorities, if unavoidable.

■ In principle, the fireworks festival will be held even if it rains, but it may still be canceled or postponed due to force majeure. If cancellation is decided before departure, the entire trip will be canceled and the full tour fee will be refunded. In such cases, our company will call the representative contact person. If the fireworks festival is announced as canceled or postponed only after the trip has departed, you will be taken to an alternative sightseeing location or directly to the hotel. In this case, the fireworks viewing seat fee will be refunded, but if it has already been used for other alternative arrangements, no further refund will be given. Thank you for your understanding. In addition, if the fireworks festival is interrupted midway, no refund will be given.

■ This itinerary arranges fireworks viewing from the group viewing area masu seats on the left bank (Venue B). It is recommended that you bring your own picnic mat/plastic sheet or similar ground covering.

■ Due to vehicle restrictions, it takes about 30 minutes to walk from the bus parking lot to the viewing area. Please wear comfortable walking shoes.

■ Severe congestion may occur around the venue and on various means of transportation on the day, so the itinerary schedule (such as arrival time at the fireworks venue or hotel) may change accordingly. Thank you for your understanding.

■ Lunch and dinner on the first day and lunch on the second day are not included in the itinerary. Please prepare your meals in advance or purchase them yourself at stopover points. There are no stalls around the fireworks venue, but there is a large supermarket about a 5-minute walk from the parking lot.

■ After the fireworks viewing, we will go directly to the hotel, with expected arrival late at night.

■ Depending on the hotel arrival time, the departure time the next day may be delayed. In such cases, the stay time at sightseeing spots may also be shortened. Thank you for your understanding.

■ Smoking is prohibited throughout the venue (including e-cigarettes). Please use designated smoking areas.

■ Preschool children are not accepted.

Q1: What gear do I need to prepare for the climb?

Basic gear: Small to medium backpack (20–30L), headlamp (with spare batteries), trekking pole (must have a protective tip cover).

Protective wear: Professional waterproof hiking boots (with sturdy soles), gloves (for protection against rough rocks), hat (for sun protection/cold protection).

Clothing system: Moisture-wicking clothing, warm clothing (temperature differences can exceed 10°C), two-piece rain jacket and rain pants (also windproof).

Food and hydration: Water (at least 2000cc), portable dry food (1–2 meals’ worth), trail snacks.

Personal items: Personal medication, trash bags (1–3), flushable toilet paper, mask, hand warmers, sunglasses, towel.

Important small item: multiple 100-yen coins (mountain toilets require payment, about 200–300 yen per use).

Q2: How can I prevent altitude sickness?

Get enough sleep, avoid staying up late or excessive fatigue, and strictly avoid alcohol the night before the climb and during the climb.

It is recommended to consult a travel medicine clinic for preventive medication and begin taking it the night before the climb.

Q3: What should I do if the weather changes?

Temperatures in the mountains are at least 10 degrees lower than on flat ground, so even in summer you should prepare sufficient warm clothing and a two-piece rain suit.

If you encounter severe weather such as dense fog or heavy rain, please strictly follow the tour leader’s instructions to retreat or change the itinerary.

Q4: Is there an age limit for climbing?

There is generally no strict age limit for hiking, but for this itinerary, travelers aged 60 and above are required to provide a health certificate; minors must be accompanied by an adult relative or friend. Those with a history of chronic illness (such as high blood pressure, heart disease, etc.) must disclose it honestly and consult a doctor.
