【Equipment Requirements】

Runners must carry all mandatory equipment with them at all times throughout the race. Event staff and referees have the right to conduct spot checks on runners’ equipment at any time during the event (including at the start, aid stations along the course, and the finish line). Missing mandatory equipment may result in time penalties or disqualification according to the penalty rules.

【Bib Number Rules】

• The bib number must be collected at check-in upon presentation of a valid photo ID.
• The bib number must be worn on the front of the chest/torso at all times and remain fully intact, clear, and visible throughout the race.
• The bib number must always be worn on the outermost layer of clothing and may not be attached to the legs or backpack. The runner’s name and sponsor logos must not be altered or covered.
• The bib number is the only credential for access to official shuttle buses, aid stations, medical stations, lounges, shower areas, baggage drop areas, and baggage claim areas.
• The bib number will only be collected upon instruction from race officials or when a runner withdraws from the race (the bib number of withdrawn runners will be clipped and invalidated).

【Drop Bag / Spare Bag】

• When collecting the race pack, runners will receive at least one designated 30-liter drop bag. After placing the necessary items inside and sealing it, runners may leave it in the designated area for official storage.
• For logistical reasons, the UTMB World Series only accepts official UTMB designated drop bags issued at check-in. This bag is reusable, and runners who have previously received one are encouraged to reuse it when participating in other UTMB events.
• Collecting drop bags at the finish area: The runner or an authorized friend/family member must present the corresponding bib number to collect the bag, and it must be collected within 2 hours after the race ends. Drop bags from runners who withdraw will be transported by the organizer to the finish area (however, due to logistical constraints, the organizer does not guarantee that all drop bags will arrive before the race ends).
• The organizer will only transport officially provided designated bags, and trekking poles are prohibited inside drop bags. As the organizer will not inspect or inventory the contents of the bags, it assumes no responsibility for damage to or loss of items inside. It is strongly recommended not to place valuables, toiletries, or spare clothing inside.

【Environmental Protection Policy】

By registering for a UTMB® event, runners agree to respect the natural environment and protected areas along the course:

• Littering is strictly prohibited (such as energy gel wrappers, paper, organic waste, plastic packaging bags, etc.). Trash bins are available at every aid station for runners to use, and race officials will conduct inspections along the course.
• All participants must carry their own trash and packaging with them until they reach an aid station for disposal. Runners should carry a small bag for personal waste. A cleanup bag is included in the bib packet for use in case of urgent sanitary needs on the course to hold used tissues.
• All runners must strictly follow the marked course route, and shortcuts/course cutting are strictly prohibited. Cutting the course causes soil erosion and damages the natural ecosystem.
• No disposable tableware will be provided at any checkpoint or aid station (including knives, forks, cups, and bowls). This is intended to reduce plastic waste generated by runners and volunteers. If you wish to consume hot food at an aid station, please bring your own utensils and collapsible cup.

【Aid Station Rules】

Food and drink aid stations are set up along the course, and the food and beverages provided are for consumption within the aid station only. The organizer provides drinking water and electrolyte/sports drinks for runners to refill the bottles/hydration packs required as mandatory equipment, as well as personal collapsible cups. Before leaving an aid station, runners must ensure they have replenished enough food and drinking water to last until the next aid station. Runners must wear their bib number when entering an aid station.

【Medical and Safety Rescue】

Medical stations and rescue personnel are stationed along the course. Doctors and first-aid personnel have the authority to determine whether a runner is physically fit to continue the race; if deemed unfit, they have the right to require the runner to withdraw immediately and surrender the bib number.

【Cut-off Times and Time Limits】Strict cut-off times are set at all aid stations and checkpoints. Runners must leave the aid station before the cut-off time. Those arriving or departing after the cut-off time will be required to withdraw from the race.

【Withdrawal and Evacuation】If a runner decides to withdraw, they must report to staff and complete the withdrawal procedure at the nearest checkpoint or aid station, and must not leave on their own. The organizer will arrange shuttle transportation to return withdrawn runners to the finish area.

【Time Penalties and Disqualification】

Violations of race rules (such as missing mandatory equipment, littering, cutting the course, receiving outside assistance in non-designated areas, not wearing the bib number, etc.) may result in time penalties (ranging from 15 minutes to several hours) or direct disqualification (DSQ), depending on the severity of the violation.

【Anti-Doping Policy】

All participants must comply with the anti-doping regulations of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the event, and must cooperate with random testing.

【Image Rights Authorization】

Participants agree to grant the organizer and its partners the right, free of charge, to photograph and film during the event, and to use photos and videos containing the runner’s likeness for publicity, promotion, and commercial purposes.
