■Important Event Rules and Notes

• Swimming
• Athletes must wear the swim cap issued by the organizer. Other swim caps are prohibited for identification purposes.
• Please enter the water according to staff instructions. Timing will only begin after the athlete passes over the timing chip mat.
• If athletes bring a tow float, novelty swim ring, large inflatable float, etc., they must follow the rules and enter the water in the designated wave. First-time triathletes are advised to bring a tow float.
• The LAVAV Tri series allows wetsuits and tow floats.
• Cycling
• If a bike malfunction occurs during the race, mobile repair motorcycles will patrol the course. You may inform them if you need assistance resolving the issue.
• For the cycling segment, only intersections are controlled and roads are not closed. During the ride, participants must keep to the right, obey traffic signals, and pay attention to traffic conditions.
• Participants are responsible for understanding the course and confirming their own lap count. Staff can only provide directional guidance and cannot track each athlete’s route.
• For safety reasons, music playback devices and photo/video recording equipment are prohibited in this event.
• There is no drafting prohibition in the cycling segment of this event, but athletes must pay attention to their own riding safety and that of others.
• Bike aid stations will no longer provide water bottles and will use static aid service. Please make sure to stop safely, eat and drink sufficiently, and then continue.
• E-bikes are welcome for an elegant challenge, and folding bikes are also okay as long as you assess that you can complete the course.
• Tandem bikes are only permitted for athletes with disabilities and must be requested in advance by email to the organizer to facilitate transition area planning.
• No park carts! Due to limited capacity on the course and in the transition area, only regular-sized bicycles are allowed.
• Running
• Participants must complete the running segment by running, walking, or crawling.
• For athlete safety, skateboards, scooters, electric vehicles, roller skates, and other high-speed devices that may cause danger are not allowed during the running segment.
• Athletes must wear the official bib number on the front of the body throughout the running segment.
• Participants are responsible for understanding the course. Staff can only provide directional guidance and cannot track each athlete’s movement, so please confirm your own lap count.
• Transition Area
• Non-participants or those not currently racing are strictly prohibited from entering the transition area.
• When entering or exiting the transition area, you will pass through a relatively narrow bike lane. Please do not overtake and reduce your speed to a safe level.
• Athletes must follow the organizer’s marked mount and dismount lines when passing through the transition area.
• Riding is not allowed in the transition area, and helmets must be properly worn even when walking the bike.
• The placement of participants’ bikes and belongings should be as follows: the bike should be placed on the right side, and the athlete’s belongings should be placed at the lower left side of the bike and hung from the handlebars for easier access and greater stability, reducing the risk of wind damage to your own or others’ bikes.
• If an athlete does not follow the designated route in the transition area, the organizer reserves the right to disqualify them.
• Relay teams must complete the “timing chip” handoff inside the relay tent in the transition area. Violators may be disqualified by the organizer.
• Different race categories will use the transition area at different times. Please be courteous to one another.
• There is only one route for entering and exiting the transition area. Frequent or unauthorized entry and exit is not allowed, as it may interfere with timing chip detection. If athletes have special needs, please explain them to transition area staff; otherwise, any timing errors caused will be the athlete’s own responsibility.
• General Rules
• Please comply with the course clearance and station closure times for each segment. Violators are responsible for their own safety.
• Athletes must bring their National Health Insurance card to protect their medical rights.
• To ensure athletes have enough time to warm up before the event and avoid physical discomfort, athletes must gather at the designated location according to the scheduled assembly time listed in the “Event Schedule” of this handbook. Late arrivals will be disqualified.
• To prevent accidents, those who are unwell should not force themselves to participate. The event director or physician has the right to stop an athlete from continuing or cancel their participation based on their physical condition. Athletes may not object; otherwise, all responsibility shall be borne by themselves.
• Participants should carefully consider their own health condition before joining this event. If you feel unwell, do not push yourself. If you have a history of heart disease, vascular disease, diabetes, or similar conditions, do not conceal your condition and do not participate. If any accident occurs during the event, the participant shall be responsible, and the organizer bears no liability.
• Littering on the course is strictly prohibited. Any waste such as water bottles, energy gels, parts, inner tubes, or even clothing accessories may only be discarded at aid stations.
• If a typhoon or force majeure natural disaster occurs before the event, the organizer reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or adjust the route for the safety of athletes and participants. Please pay close attention to related change notices. If the event is postponed due to a typhoon or force majeure natural disaster and the athlete is unable to participate, the registration fee already paid will not be refunded.
• Participants agree that videos and photos of this event may be broadcast, exhibited, or published on the organizer’s website and publications, and participants must agree to the use of their likeness for related promotional activities.
• The organizer reserves the right to modify the rules at any time.

■Timing chip

• This event uses reusable timing chips, and no chip deposit is required.
• If an athlete fails to return or loses the timing chip, compensation of NT$2,000 will be required, and the organizer reserves the right to cancel the athlete’s results.
• During the event, athletes must wear the chip on the left ankle at all times and it must not be covered by clothing to avoid poor detection.
• If you decide not to participate after receiving the chip, or withdraw during the event, please proactively return the chip to the event service desk or hand it to staff on the course so the organizer can confirm your location and safety.
• Athletes are advised to use the chip strap issued by the organizer. Using other methods to secure the chip may increase the risk of losing it.

3. Bike packing requirements (must be completed before entering the station)
4. The bicycle must be fully packed before entering the ticket gate, and the packing must comply with the following rules:

※ A standard bike bag must be used: the bike must be fully enclosed with no parts exposed. Plastic bags, cloth bags, or other substitute packaging are prohibited.

※ Size limits: Maximum length on any one side: no more than 150 cm; total length + width + height: no more than 220 cm

※ Station entry/exit and boarding process

【Entering the station】: Before entering the ticket gate, the bicycle must be completely packed into the bike bag.

【Inspection】: Use the staffed ticket gate and present the printed “identification pass” for inspection by station staff.

【Exiting the station】: Keep the bicycle properly packed at all times. It is strictly prohibited to remove the bicycle from the bag before exiting the ticket gate.

Terms of Use

【Bike Shipping Service Notes】

Thank you for choosing the bike shipping service. The carrier will provide you with high-quality, safe, and reliable transport service during the race (event). Please read the following information carefully before purchasing and dropping off your bike:

I. Transport Mode Description

1. Vehicle used for transport: The most suitable transport arrangement will be provided based on the cooperating service provider and the needs of each race (event).
2. Bike securing: Professional securing methods that meet safety standards will be used according to the transport vehicle type and event specifications.
3. Bike collection location: Designated collection points are set according to different events or cooperating service providers.
4. Bike protection measures and shipping requirements: Please refer to the actual announcement for the specific event or service provider.

＊If wrapping is required for the event, the sender must comply with the following rules: To reduce risks arising from unexpected vibration or collision during transport, “unwrapped bikes” will be strictly refused for this event.

(1) Protection for vulnerable parts: When handing over the bike before and after the race, the sender must properly wrap vulnerable parts of the bike to prevent scratches or collisions during transport.

(2) Mandatory wrapping standard: The bike must be wrapped at least at the 6 key areas shown in the image below (see the illustration below).

II. Safety and Insurance Plan

The entire transport process is insured in accordance with the law under professional cargo transport insurance. However, actual claim terms are subject to the final insurance policy content for the specific event.

1. During both bike drop-off and pickup, on-site staff will conduct complete inspections and photo records to ensure delivery safety at every stage.

III. Bike Drop-off Notes

When dropping off the bike, please remove all accessories that are not fixed with screws (including rear bottle cages). Mounts may remain, but this service is not responsible for their safekeeping in case of loss or damage.

【On-site Bike Drop-off/Pickup Procedures and Notes】

I. Shipping Inspection and Photo Process

1. Pre-race bike drop-off: On-site staff will confirm the shipper’s information. After both parties verify the bike condition, the customer must take photos and upload them to the inspection form. Staff must confirm this step is completed before accepting the bike.

2. Race venue bike pickup: The recipient must present the order. After on-site staff confirm the order is correct and both parties verify the bike condition, the customer must take photos and upload them to the inspection form as a pickup record before the bike can be collected.

3. Post-race bike drop-off: On-site staff will confirm the shipper’s information. After both parties verify the bike condition, the customer must take photos and upload them to the inspection form. Staff must confirm this step is completed before accepting the bike.

4. Post-race bike pickup: The recipient must present the order. After on-site staff confirm the order is correct and both parties verify the bike condition, the customer must take photos and upload them to the inspection form as a pickup record before the bike can be collected.

II. Reminder of Fees Arising from On-site Operations

• Late storage fee: If the bicycle is not picked up within the announced pickup time after the race (or event), a storage fee of NT$50 per bike per day will be charged starting from the following day, and the bike can only be collected after all related fees are paid. Storage is available for up to 1 month; if it exceeds 1 month, the fee will increase to NT$100 per bike per day starting from the day after the overdue date.
