2027 Aomori Sakura Marathon ( あおもり桜マラソン2027 ) is a brand-new full marathon event held during Aomori's spring cherry blossom season.

The course starts at Nogiwa Park and passes famous landmarks such as Aomori Bay Bridge and Aomori Prefecture Tourist Center ASPAM, showcasing beautiful harbor scenery before finishing at Aoiumi Park. The course is generally flat and scenic, allowing runners to enjoy the stunning blend of harbor views and spring cherry blossoms while pushing for their best performance, along with experiencing Aomori's warm and enthusiastic local support.

Organizer's Free Shuttle Bus

• On race day, the organizer will arrange a limited shuttle bus to the race venue (no shuttle service will be provided without race participation, and availability is first come, first served)

• You must prepare the boarding pass sent in advance in order to ride the shuttle for the race.

• You may get off at Aburakawa Civic Center (油川市民センター) (about an 8-minute walk from the start point).

【Cutoff Points】

• Those who do not pass checkpoints within the time limit or fall too far behind must stop the race according to the judges' instructions.
• All races end at 2:30 PM, and traffic control will be lifted.
• Runners who are eliminated or when the race ends must immediately move to the sidewalk, remove their bib number, and stop running.

Walk about 21 minutes (1.5 km) from the hotel to Aomori Station (青森駅), take the JR Tsugaru Line to Aburakawa Station (油川駅), then walk about 24 minutes (1.7 km) after getting off to arrive.

Walk about 15 minutes (1 km) from the hotel to Aburakawa Station (油川駅), take the JR Tsugaru Line to , then walk about 24 minutes (1.7 km) after getting off to arrive.

It is about a 9-minute walk (650 meters) from the race finish point.

【Race Regulations】

1. Participants must not have heart disease or other such illnesses, should pay attention to their own health, and may only participate after sufficient training.
2. If you have a chronic illness (such as heart disease or respiratory disease), please obtain permission from your attending physician before registering.
3. If an accident or injury occurs during the race, first aid treatment will be provided as a general rule. Unless there is intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the organizer, compensation is limited to the scope of the injury insurance purchased by the organizer.
4. Participants must follow the organizer's safety management and race operation instructions, including orders to stop the race when deemed unable to continue, or temporary stoppages due to traffic conditions.
5. If the race is suspended due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, such as earthquakes, windstorms, floods, snowfall, incidents, accidents, or illness, whether registration fees and handling fees will be refunded, and the amount, will depend on actual costs incurred at the time the suspension decision is made.
6. False reporting of age or gender, and participation by anyone other than the registered participant (improper participation), is prohibited. (If such a situation occurs, race eligibility will be canceled.)
7. Regarding race videos, photos, articles, records, etc., participants agree that personal information (including name, age, gender, results, likeness, etc.) may be used, reported, and utilized by newspapers, television, magazines, the internet, brochures, and other media. (The rights of publication and use thereof belong to the organizer.)
8. Participants agree that the handling of their personal information will follow the Personal Information Handling Policy.

Other

1. Please undergo a health check on your own and do not force yourself to participate; this race is not open to wheelchair participation.
2. If you need a guide runner, please apply in advance (guide runners are exempt from the race entry fee).
3. The use of drones for photography is prohibited at the race venue and on the course.
4. The start and finish points are different. The organizer provides baggage check at the start point and delivery service to the finish point. Limited to one item per person, and it must fit into the designated baggage bag (70cm × 50cm). Please carry valuables with you.
5. Aid stations will be set up at the start and finish points, as well as along the full marathon (15 locations), half marathon (9 locations), and 10 km (5 locations) courses (water, sports drinks, and food will be provided).
6. Restrooms are available at the start point, finish point, and along the race course.
7. Please wear appropriate sports attire. Outfits that cover the entire face, violate public order and morals, or raise safety concerns are prohibited. Violators may have their eligibility canceled and be instructed by the organizer to stop racing immediately.
8. Please be sure to fill in accurate registration information when signing up; an official race result certificate may be requested after finishing.
9. For finishers of the full marathon or half marathon who are registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and require it, an official race result certificate will be issued. Details will be announced later on the official race website and elsewhere.
10. Among runners registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations, those who achieve the following times at this event will undergo a shoe sole inspection after reaching the finish line. If they violate the competition rules of the Japan Association of Athletics Federations, they will be disqualified.

• Men　Full Marathon within 2 hours 21 minutes, Half Marathon within 1 hour 04 minutes
• Women　Full Marathon within 2 hours 56 minutes, Half Marathon within 1 hour 18 minutes

Handling of Injury Insurance

Coverage is limited to accidental injuries occurring during the race period, and compensation is limited to the injury insurance purchased by the organizer (except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the organizer).

• Death/Permanent disability: up to JPY 3 million
• Daily hospitalization benefit: JPY 2,500 / day
• Daily outpatient benefit: JPY 1,000 / day

Regarding the Handling of Personal Information

• The organizer and co-organizers will handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws and regulations.
• The collected personal information will be used for event organization and production, publication of records, hosting activities on the official website, and other necessary communications.
• The organizer, co-organizers, and third parties approved by the organizer and co-organizers may publish event videos, photos, reports, personal records, etc. in event schedules, posters and other promotional materials, as well as on television, radio, newspapers, magazines, the internet, and other media for the purpose of holding and promoting the event.

Finisher Certificate

• Finishers may download an electronic finisher certificate (Web finisher certificate) from the official website after the race. No paper finisher certificate will be issued by the organizer.
