  • As there will be a large number of participants queuing to deposit baggage on race morning, please arrive at the baggage deposit area according to the recommended time to avoid delaying your start.
  • Baggage deposit must be completed 25 minutes before the race start. The organizer reserves the right to refuse baggage from participants arriving after the designated baggage deposit time.
  • Before depositing baggage, please securely attach the baggage tag provided by the organizer to your bag and hand it over to the designated baggage vehicle.

  • Participants who do not need to deposit baggage may proceed directly to the waiting area on Nathan Road (between Haiphong Road and Middle Road) to prepare for the start.

Course Arrangements

  • Turnaround point record: Participants must pass over the timing mat placed at the turnaround point to verify completion of the full course. If a participant’s timing chip has no turnaround point record, the organizer will not provide that participant’s race time.
  • Water stations and food:

The organizer will provide distilled water to participants at the start, finish, and approximately every 5 km along the course, and sports drinks at water stations after the 10 km mark for marathon participants.

The organizer will provide bananas and other food at approximately the 25 km and 30 km marks for marathon participants in need (limited quantities).

After finishing the race, the organizer will distribute distilled water, bananas, and energy bars to all participants in the finish area.

★Note: Energy bars and other food items may contain peanut ingredients. Please take note.

  • Facilities and services:

First aid stations (provided by the Auxiliary Medical Service) will be set up at the start, at each water station along the course, and at the finish. Ambulance bicycles will also patrol the course to monitor conditions.

Portable toilets will be set up at the start, at each water station along the course, and on the course.

  • Other course notes:

To ensure emergency vehicles can quickly reach incident scenes, participants must not enter emergency vehicle lanes during the race and must follow staff instructions at all times.

Distance markers will be placed at every kilometer along the course.

The organizer’s timing vehicle will lead the Marathon Challenge Group participants from the start to the finish.

Important Notes

  1. As the race takes place in the early morning, all participants are kindly requested to keep quiet to minimize disturbance to residents near the course.
  2. To ensure the safety of all participants, organizer staff will maintain order along the course, and participants must follow staff instructions.
  3. To avoid accidents, the organizer appeals to participants not to stop for photography in the start area, along the course, or in the finish area.
  4. To ensure roads can reopen on schedule and normal traffic can resume, the organizer will set checkpoints along the course. If any participant fails to pass a checkpoint within the designated time, organizer staff will terminate that participant’s eligibility to continue the race. Participants must follow organizer staff instructions and board the designated shuttle bus back to Victoria Park. The organizer reserves the right to refuse future participation in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon and other organizer-hosted events to participants who do not comply with organizer instructions.
  5. The organizer reserves the right to change any course before or during the race without prior notice due to weather, actual road conditions, or emergencies. If emergency vehicles must use part of the course during the race to respond quickly to emergencies, the organizer may suspend the race accordingly. In any emergency, participants must follow the instructions of on-site staff or law enforcement officers. If the course is changed for any of the above reasons, registration fees will not be refunded or returned.
  6. To reduce congestion in the finish area and avoid accidents, participants are requested to leave the finish area as soon as possible after crossing the finish line.
  7. The organizer has purchased public liability insurance. If necessary, participants are advised to purchase their own personal and other relevant insurance.
  8. Spectators and members of the public who wish to watch the race may enter the public cheering area at Victoria Park through Gate 4. During the race, the public will not be able to use Gates 14, 15, 16, and 17 to enter or exit Victoria Park.
  9. If the Hong Kong Observatory issues Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above, or a Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, at or after 3:00 a.m. on race day, the race will be canceled. Participants are advised to pay attention to weather conditions and forecasts on the night before the race, especially any tropical cyclone warning signals or rainstorm warning signals that may be issued during the expected period. For race arrangements, please pay attention to broadcasts from major radio or television stations starting from 3:00 a.m. on race day.
