This is a coastal route full of natural charm that circles Yanbaru (northern Okinawa Prefecture). The eastern coast in the latter half of the route features continuous rolling terrain, making it especially enjoyable to ride. In addition, since this category is held on the first day of the event (Saturday), one of its attractions is that you can also register for another category on Sunday.

Enjoy the southern Yanbaru area on a cycling ride designed for intermediate riders!

Starting from Nago City and heading south along Okinawa’s west coast, this approximately 90 km cycling journey passes through the resort-like Onna Village, Kin Town where taco rice originated, and Ginoza Village rich in natural resources. From the bus platform at either the domestic or international terminal of Naha Airport, take the No. 111 or No. 117 express bus (toward Nago/Motobu) and get off at "Nago Gusuku Iriguchi" or the final stop "Nago Bus Terminal". If you get off at Nago Bus Terminal, it is about a 15-minute walk (1.2 km) or a 3-minute taxi ride to the hotel.

【Event Rules】

挑戰賽 ( Challenge Race / チャレンジレース ) 50K:

● Participants must use a road bike that complies with the regulations of the Japan Cycling Federation.

● Only drop handlebars are allowed, and no additional attachments may be installed. In addition, bicycles with non-functioning front or rear brakes, different front and rear tire sizes (in inches), or disc brakes are not permitted to participate.

● Participants must wear a helmet approved by the Japan Cycling Federation. (However, elementary school students must wear a hard-shell helmet.)

● Neutral service (wheel support) is provided by the organizer’s neutral vehicles (support vehicles and equipment bicycles).

● Start times may be adjusted depending on race conditions.

● Checkpoints (cutoff points) will be set along the course. Participants who do not pass within the designated time will be disqualified.

● Since emergency vehicles and official vehicles will be present during the race, participants must in principle ride on the left side. (For safety reasons) If it is necessary to ride on the right side, participants must not obstruct emergency or official vehicles.

● The use of mobile phones, smartphones, and other electronic devices is prohibited during the race. (Carrying mobile phones and smartphones is allowed for emergencies.)

● If mixed racing with other categories is permitted, winners may be disqualified or relegated.

● During the race, if a participant behaves indecently in public (before spectators), especially obscene behavior (such as urinating in public), they may be disqualified or relegated.

● It is strictly prohibited for participants to litter bottles, trash, etc. anywhere outside the areas designated by the organizer.

If you are participating in the cycling event, please use a bicycle suitable for riding on public roads, including mountain bikes and folding bikes.

Bicycle Rules

● This event is not a timed race. Please obey traffic rules. Other vehicles will be on the road, so do not draft, ride side by side, or overtake aggressively. Please strictly maintain single-file riding.

● Helmets and gloves must be worn.

● Escort vehicles riding alongside are prohibited.

● Riders must not overtake the lead vehicle.

● Riders will be guided by event instructors, so please do not overtake them.

● If you need to withdraw from the race for any reason, please inform the staff and follow their instructions.
