Golf Course Introduction
📢 Tour Notes
- Rental service: Golf clubs and shoes must be reserved in advance (left- or right-handed information required). Staff will prepare them in advance and transport them to the course. Rental club brands cannot be specified, and actual models are subject to the course’s inventory on the day.
- Drinking water policy: Outside food is prohibited on-site. Vending machines only provide bottled water and bottled beverages (cash required).
- Course challenge: Includes the iconic “ocean-crossing shot” fairways (Holes 7 and 8). Please pay attention to the effect of sea breezes on your shots.
⛳ The Southern Links Golf Club ( The Southern Links Golf Club / ザ・サザンリンクスゴルフクラブ ) Course Features
Unique coastal cliff terrain: Located in the southern part of Okinawa’s main island, this is an extremely rare top-tier resort golf course in Japan with authentic “links” terrain. The Southern Links is one of the few golf courses in Okinawa built directly along the coastline. Most famously, the course stretches along coral reef cliffs as high as 40 meters, allowing golfers to overlook the Pacific Ocean directly while playing, where the deep blue sea and vivid green fairways create a breathtaking visual feast.
The course preserves its original undulating terrain and has relatively few tall trees for cover, making it a classic links-style course. This requires golfers to factor strong sea winds, wind speed, and terrain undulations into their strategy. As a prestigious venue that once hosted the “Asia Japan Okinawa Open,” its ever-changing sea breezes and the thunderous sound of waves crashing against the shore offer both a significant challenge and great enjoyment.
Iconic “ocean-crossing shot” experience: The most representative feature of the course is its specific holes that require players to “hit across the sea” (such as the famous Holes 7 and 8). Golfers must strike the ball across cliffs and ocean water to reach the green on the opposite side. This not only tests shot accuracy and mental composure, but also offers a unique terrain experience unavailable at inland courses.
The facilities within the grounds are fully equipped and located right next to the hotel and restaurant, allowing you to enjoy a one-stop luxury resort experience while challenging yourself and feeling the rich natural rhythm of Okinawa. It is a dream destination that every golf lover should visit at least once in a lifetime.
