My favourite hotel .... though disappointingly in need of attention ..
Had another wonderful stay at the Lebua. Fantastic suite with spectacular view.
Breakfast was amazing as always in terms of selection .... still the best breakfast selection.
Having said that the Lebua is beginning to show its age and in need of some TLC. I have stayed here many times now but with more and more luxury hotels with amazing rooftop bars / restaurants appearing all over Bangkok, it will need to up its gain if it wants to compete. Beautiful facilities but as I say in need of some TLC. The room looked worn in terms of carpet, bathroom and general scuffs and scratches.
The Sky Bar has become a real disappointment as it appears to be used by many as a photo opportunity so you ushered from one side to the other while photos are taken, often facilitated by staff. It becomes crowded and after 20 minutes we chose to change to the Whisky Bar which was less crowded, amazing view of the river and spectacular DJ.
The club lounge was good though we had a disappointing experience where we had 2 ladies who were visibly drunk and disturbing to others but still served alcohol. We complained and received a very prompt response from management which was greatly appreciated. I do recognise it is difficult to manage situations like this where you providing a service and some clientele taking advantage.
Having said all of the above, the staff and service at the Lebua is second to none and one of the main reasons we return.
