Perfect countryside escape
Daichan Farm has become the must-do for a trip to Japan. I've made 2 visits in my 3 trips to Japan, and both times the farm was the highlight of the trip. The food and accommodation are great, but the main feature for me is the people! The Shito family is warm, energetic, and makes me feel like part of the family every time. Kazue is a great cook, and I was thrilled to find out this trip that everything we ate was farm to table. They even make their own miso, and it's incredible.
There's also a lot to do and see in Asahi Machi, especially during harvest times. I suggest October or early November if you like apples. I hear cherries in June are fantastic too. Already looking forward to my next trip!
